...is their boyfriends. God damn, it can get annoying. I mean, I've got a boyfriend and don't talk about him in every conversation.
It's kind of unecessary. I don't understand it. It's as if my friends live to be attached to some male specimen and most of their S.O.s appear to be pretty damn unimaginative creatures to have relationships with. Yet they make them a topic of convo and they aren't even interesting! Anyone else have this problem? Is it possible to change it?

no, i dont have this problem.

That may have sounded a tad exaggerated up there. It's not all of my friends. More like three close ones.

it is probably not possible to change it

Um. It could be. I just don't know how to do it. Depends on the people, I think...

You could inform them that you are tired of their incessant relationship talk and their, er, specimens. Ask if you could instead converse about a much better topic like, say, college admissions.

maybe they're in love and ur not. perhaps u should break up with ur boyfriend.

Are you serious? You know nothing about my relationship. And maybe some are in love and some aren't. Good for them! That wasn't my point. Some will ramble about the bf after a one week anniversary. Love? Heh. Congrats for supplying the most ignorant response yet. I hope you are a freshman or younger. You sound truly naive.

Yeah, we already did that. And everybody's got somewhere to go -- we're seniors. I'll just explain calmly and rationally. Maybe if they could hear themselves talk, they'd shut up. Oh, well.

Imagine yourself going to an all-girls school. Now what would it look like?

Yeah. You don't have that problem.

hahahaha!!!!my friends and i do the same thing. except none of us have boyfriends, so we just talk about who we want to have as boyfriends... but yeah, if it is a major problem, then tell them that their constant boy talk is annoying.

they're still just in that time of their lives when they're too immature to realize that there's more to life than relationships. i went through the same kinda phase (though i'm a guy) where it seemed like being in a relationship, and having everyone know you're in a relationship, was the most important asset of your high school experience. luckily my best friend eventually talked some sense into me and i realized that the reason my school, my sports, and my music were suffering was because i was too much "in love." it's the ever-present problem with high school.

Actually, I don't see that as something to complain about. I almost did go to a respected all-girls school and only didn't because it was too expensive for my mom to afford.

I love talking about guys but I also like intellectual conversations, haha. I mean, my boyfriend is ****ing amazing at everything and goes to Princeton U and I don't talk about him 24/7. I don't live for a guy, though I do love him, I'd never say something cheesy like, "I was born to make you happy." And that's a B. Spears song, btw. :p

Yes, they just sound like such...FRESHMAN! lol There is soooo much more to life than relationships -- like yourself.

"maybe they're in love and ur not. perhaps u should break up with ur boyfriend. "

Agreed.

jk...but that was funny

haha yeah..because if your boyfriend doesn't consume your every thought and conversation, you must not really love him.

Who wants to be in love with boyfriend anyway? It's all about the money. Emotions get in the way.

But actually, I suppose it wouldn't really work if 3 close friends are all doing it, just have all of your friends make fun of her when she's being an idiot about her boyfriend. So yeah, it workls best with 1.

hahaha lablondie, the money, tangible items are worth nothing. Unless there shoelaces.

If you give me (cool) shoelaces, I will love you forever.

I talked only about my girlfriend for about two weeks. But then I got kinda annoyed and I figured everyone around me was sick of hearing the same thing all the time, so now I've stopped.

It's pretty pathetic when all of a girl's life is her boyfriend. No, I'm not bitter about romance, but honestly--that's just plan immature to me.

/my opinion.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with being bitter.
