mcb52, what do you mean by sue the school for allowing her to take exams on so little sleep? Is there a law for that? That's interesting, I slept 2 hours a night during final exams and still ended up taking them. I'm not looking to sue though, I just wanted to know more about this.

I'm not sure if there's a law for it... but I said before it wasn't her choice to sleep so little--it was kind of the school's fault that she couldn't get any sleep

I get around 4-6hrs each night. I usually never do all nighters because I'd rather get a few more minutes of sleep instead of a few more points on a test. I did try to do 2 all nighters in a row, but eventually gave up around 3-4am and slept from first through fourth period.

How the hell do some of you guys procrastinate so little? I study right before tests, don't do homework, and even blow off the SAT/ACT even though they're the tickets into most colleges...

For me it's better to take a 1-2 hour nap right after school and then do homework throughout the night because then I'm more alert and it gets done faster

Wow yawn, thanks for the link to that article...it does describe me quite well. Suppose those 24 hour shifts at the hospital will be a little easier to bear. :P

I honestly can't imagine how ANYONE pulls an "all-nighter." I try my best not to procrastinate important assignments mainly because I cannot force myself to stay up so late ...

^ To be honest, I can't possibly imagine going to bed before midnight. It just seems so alien, and it's probably been years since I've done such a thing.

^ Haha true. If I sleep at 1 AM or something then it feels so strange. Like I could have wasted more time online or done something more useful. Plus it messes up my system, since I tend to feel more groggy if I sleep for 5 hours than if I sleep for 3.5 hours. Does this happen to other people, as well? Perhaps it has to do something with the number of sleep cycles I go through, not exactly sure...So I usually end up going to bed at 2:30 typically, since i start homework at midnight. yeah sever procrastination problems. Perhaps I need more motivation, lol.

I have to pull all-nighters on days that I start my homework at 4pm and work non-stop. There is something seriously wrong with me, I mean I don't find my classes hard or anything, they're actually quite easy. But, I just take so long to complete my homework. I feel like I don't even distract myself or anything like that, but somehow I still end up wasting my time and I don't even know WHAT wastes my time. It's really weird, is anyone else like this?

I do turn my computer, but I don't even spend a lot of time on it. All I use it for is my homework and probably like 30 min. a day other stuff, but that's all. I feel like my mind is asleep or something even if I'm awake because I have no idea what's wasting my time and I don't even feel like I'm daydreaming, but somehow I am still wasting my time. I mean, I do my homework but I feel like I don't even know that I'm doing it. It's so hard to even describe my situation and you probably think I'm insane so I'll just stop talking now...

ohhh all nighters...
i have periods where i'm really awake and then really tired. the day after is just plain AWFULLLLLLL. they're really not worth it.
i went to bed at 2 AM every single day of this week (for no real reason. i wasn't doing work), and now i'm sick (this is how my body responds) but still staying up because i've messed up my sleep schedule. great.

...I've never gotten any less than 8 hours of sleep on a schoolday, with rare occasions that I can count such as poker nights and other fun all-night parties.

And that's this year, too, because I'm watching more T.V. and playing more games; before I slept a consistent 9~11 hours on weekdays and 12~14 on weekends (I still sleep this much on weekends).

Uh, I'm actually normal, and get an average amount of sleep...you people are insane.

I just had more sleep last night than I had over the previous three nights combined - after the Duke game went to bed around midnight and woke up around 8.

I'd had 7 over the past 72 before that.

Feeling refreshed now. All major papers done for a while now, last week was hell but I should be able to catch up on sleep over the next few weeks.
