I sent in my app Nov 17, and received an email on nov 23 saying my app was complete and ready for review...
i sent in an additional supplement to my app on nov 17 priority mail,(it wsa a funny picture that went along with my essay, to hopefully win the hearts of the reader/adcom)

I have been calling to check the status of my applicaiton every week since then and each time they have said "Your app is complete, You'll get your results in 10-12 weeks".

I called yesterday and suprisingly she was like, your app was completed DECEMBER 10, you'll receive a decision in 10-12 weeks...

WHAT happened, i thought it was ready nov 23!!! Do you think maybe they just recently received my mailed supplement, put it in my file, then stuck me and the bottom of the list?

My friend (futuretrojan) who sent his app on the same day, called admissions and they said they already reviewd his app...SO WHY HAVENT THEY DONE MINE!

Well a similar thing happened to me. On Oct. 24th I sent all my materials and on the 28th they deemed my application complete. However my application was not "processed" until Nov. 14th and thats when they began to "review" it. Anyway I thought this was normal ;-/.

Pink, don't panic and don't dislike Michigan. The admissions process is a lengthy one. Michigan does its best, but they get over 20,000 applicants annually, so sometimes, they are a little mechanical.

Did you tell the lady that you were previously told that you were previously told that your application was previously on November 23? I suspect the reason why your application now shows a completion date of December 10 is because you sent new information at that time.

But I think that when they say 10-12 weeks, they mean from December 10. So that means you will hear back in February.

You applied right before Thanks Giving. Between late November and early January, the admissions process slows down considerably (for Thanks Giving, Christmas and the New Year) and picks up after the new years.

You will hear back from Michigan in the next 5 weeks (by mid February). That's still a couple of months before every other university you applied to.

Well, maybe it was a slip of the tongue. She may have meant it was complete on the first date, but hadn't been EVALUATED until the second date you heard. Applications are read three times, so it does take awhile for three people to hand it around and look over everything carefully.

If Michigan is the right school for you, that shouldn't change just because you're getting confusing information from admissions. You will never have to deal with that office again if you come here, so why let it change your enthusiasm for the entire school?
