All Sectional Runner vs. Leadership

this post is really long, but PLEASE read it and give me some advice.

see, my sophomore year, i ran cross country, made all conference honors, and that was that. the summer between my soph. and junior years, i went overseas for about a month, then came back and did this three week course at northwestern in evanston, IL, and i got involved with this research with a professor at uchicago. my junior yr started, i did x country, got injured, and barely ran the entire season. but i did win the sportsmanship award and i got voted for captain for my senior yr. currently, i am looking into a program at uchicago for the summer (one month long) that will let me do some REAL research at Uchicago w/ the same professor i mentioned earlier, and i desperately HOPE that i can do a major research project and MAYBE send in the results to the Intel Science thing at the start of senior yr. this year, i have been elected pres of NHS, and i will probably (almost 95% sure) be pres of the largest service organization at my school. and i could probably be president of other clubs (science, spanish) but don't want to cuz colleges look down on that - at least i think they do.

now that you guys basically read my entire life (not really), i need to ask you a question. Do colleges like to see a person who made to to sectionals in a sport (meaning they are good at a sport) or do they like to see leadership positions and a person who likes science research?

just for your info, i am a straight a student, w/Ap and honor classes, top 10, community service stuff, been in the newspaper, etc. PSAT: top 97% (i know, i know :( ); ACT: just took it yesterday, estimating a 31, but retaking for sure cuz i know i can get a 32/33.
my college choices: uchicago, northwestern, john hopkins, and god if i'm lucky, Harvard

if anybody can give me good advice, i would seriously hug you if i could.

come on guys! at least tell me if i'm going crazy or not!!! _

This probably won't help much, but you should do what you like the most and what you are best at.

thanks zogoto; i guess i like to be in leadership positions and i LOVE science, so i'll focus on that. it's just that sometimes, don't you feel like you just have to be good at EVERYTHING you do. it puts so much pressure on me.

Yeah I had to make a similiar choice last year, but it was easy for me. I sucked really bad at x-country and track, but I still wanted to do it a lot. But I liked science more and so I pursued that it and I guess it worked out alright for me.
