i am 85% sure that i want to be a theoretical physicist. I am 3 years ahead in math and I would be doing computer science in 12th grade. i just want to know what classes should i take in high school that will help and what colleges would you recommend. thanks in advance.

i have been thinking about Caltech and there is a chance i could get into MIT any other schools good for physics. quality is what matters most to me.

slow down a bit OP. even if you’re so ahead in math, I wouldn’t start planning so ahead just yet. of course, it’s great that you have an idea and you might end up sticking with it but just remember to keep an open mind.
as far as what college you’ll go to, that’s a long time away. don’t get your heart set on any particular schools. you might be able to get into Caltech or MIT, but it’s very hard to realize exactly how hard it is to get into those schools until you’ve been in hs for a while.

Enter high school with an open mind. You might discover something you also really want to do as well. When I was in elementary school, I was doing 7th grade math in 3rd grade, but now, I’m only two years ahead of my classmates. Alot can happen in four years, so don’t be so set on one specific thing. I’m sure your counselors are there to help you. When I was younger, all I wanted to go to was an Ivy League school, but now that I’m entering high school, it’s not that easy. I’ve opened my mind to UC schools, and even my state school.
