I know I have a low GPA, but with the upward trend and the fact that my courseload is increasingly harder I hope it can be somewhat overlooked. I'm currently on a trip interviewing at schools. I have yet to get my SAT2s but I am confident they will be above my SAT Is.

Bowdoin
Colby

I didn't list my safeties obviously. I believe I am doing very well at interviews, making connections and bringing up the interesting upbringing that I have had (13 schools.) as well as talk about my real passion in politics and studying political science.

Middlebury (interviewed at)- match
Haverford- high match-low reach
Colgate (interviewed at)- low reach
Grinnell (interviewed at)- mid-high match
Bowdoin-low-mid-reach

Chance me please. I'll give you an imaginary cookie! ^_^

Middlebury-low reach, high match
Haverford-reach
Colgate-match, maybe high match (they like sports)
Grinnell-match
Bowdoin-high match, low reach

I don't know about colby, lol.

the other posters are way off. whether you interviewed there or not, middlebury is more selective than haverford and colgate and roughly equal to bowdoin. your numbers seem a bit low for midd, haverford, and bowdoin, but your ec's are quite impressive and, as a hawaiin, anything could happen. good luck.

middlebury- reach/high reach
haverford- low reach/reach
colgate- match
grinnell-match
bowdoin-low reach/reach (don't send them your sat's)
colby-match

i'm most likely going ED to Midd. its my clear top choice at this point in time.

Yeah dude, I loved Middlebury too...Awesome school. ED is the way to go for that one.

thanks so far guys. i could really use some more advice though, my counselor doesn't even know anything about most of these schools and has not given me great advice.

Well, all of the schools you're applying to, outside of Hamilton, I believe are ranked in the top 30 list of LACs as posted by USNWR...That should give you an idea of just how prestigious and selective the colleges you are applying to are, especially Middlebury, ranked 5th best.

Middlebury is incredibly selective and has an ever surging applicant pool, with international affairs and foreign languages becoming increasingly popular majors and college programs. However, in the most recent applicant pool, accepted students had somewhat lower SAT and ACT scores...

I'm kind of rambling here, but basically, acceptance to Midd will require distinction, good grades, passion, etc. I think you can do it though.

Not really true. The mid-50% SAT I scores for last year's freshmen class were 1900-2220.

The mid-50% SAT I scores for this fall's entering class are 1980-2200.

ACT mid-50% ranges were the same--29-32
