Already applied, but what results should I expect?

Hey everyone. I'll admit it. I AM FREAKING OUT!! I can't help it, the anticipation is killing me! There is part of me that thinks that I can get in, but then I know that the odds are against me...I find out in 15 days, but I while I triy to keep myself preoccupied with other things, I can't help but go insane.

So can anyone help me out? What do you think of my chances? I feel so low and desperate doing this, but it would put me at ease to know what you all think.

~Counselor Rec: IB Coordinator is also my history teacher, and he told me that I was one of the top students in his class, so I think I don't need to worry about that, either
~My club swim coach wrote a rec letter for me specifcally for Pomona. It wasn't too formal, but it was really sweet. (He wrote that I wear "crazy socks", haha.) Not sure admissions will look at it, but I didn't think it'd hurt to include it?

One last thing....I'm hoping that my interview will help boost my chances. The interview I had was pretty good. It lasted an hour longer than it should have, so when we were done the office had already closed. I was lucky because my interviewer happened to also be from Uzbekistan and spoke Russian! (What a small world, indeed.) I talked Russian to him for part of the interview. I showed him my art, and we discussed psychology and physics involved in swimming.

I think that my strengths are that I am generally a passionate person, which is reflected in my activites with art, music, and athletics. I made it clear in my interview that I hope to pursue languages in college (Russian and Japanese) as well as continue with my ECs. However, my academics do not seem amazing on paper, although they are not bad. GPA/Rank/ACT score are probably standard.

Okay, I'll stop before this text box explodes. Thanks!

Well, no one can really say, but you've got a reasonably good shot. The interview sounds like it might help a lot. Your grades are not totally fantastic, but Pomona does look beyond that. I don't want to get your hopes up too much, though, as it's hard to say what will happen. Find some way to distract yourself for the next two weeks.....

Thank you for your comment. You are right, I can't decide from some comments on CC that I should expect a rejection or an acceptance letter. But I wanted a better idea of what my strengths and weaknesses are.

15 days!

Creepy, this thread has like 80 views but only two or so replies. :0 Lurkers checking out my stats!

I'm in a similar boat in that I'm dying of anticipation waiting for Pomona ED letter... I guess because of your previous comment I feel guilty reading this without leaving a response :)
Personally, I'm trying to get through the next eleven days by trying to get excited about other school just in case, so I don't have a breakdown if I get rejected. I toured Occidental a while ago, and it's a pretty nice school with the small liberal arts feel in the LA area, although it's not as academically strong as I would like... And I'm fairly limited because I want to stay local. I don't know. Good luck, and hopefully we'll both be sagehens soon!
