Aside from the fact that I’m probably not as smart as most of the 2350-earning people here, I haven’t put in time to study for the SAT before I took it. I guess you could attribute it to plain laziness.

I have taken it 3x already but I’m still not satisfied with my score.

The first time I took it I was cold, nervous, and knew I filled out part a section of the scantron in the wrong area. Therefore, I cancelled the scores.

The second time I studied a little for CR because I never was good at reading comprehension. To my surprise, I got
CR: 710
Writing: 680
Math: 620

(2010)

The third time studied a little for Math because obviously, a 620 is not a good score. Unfortunately my CR score went down.
CR: 660
Writing: 690
Math: 710

(2060)

Superscored that’s 2110

Should I take it another time? I’m aiming for a college like UCLA. I’m usually a much better writer but the 25 min. essay time constraint is killing me. I would really like all my scores to end up in the 700 range.

1 UCLA doesn’t super score. you would have to use your 2060 score.

2 but that doesn’t really matter anyway because 2060 is plenty for LA

3 if you canceled the first time… no college will count as you having taken it 3 times. so if it is the 3X mark you are worried about, definitely retake it. i know i didn’t really give you an answer, but i hope the new info helps!

as wingless said, since you cancelled your score the first time, it looks like you took it 2 times…
I’d take it again if I were you…that math was a big improvement after you studied a little bit…so im sure devoting a lot of time to studying could help you out a lot

Yeah, I don’t exactly have the greatest math grade in class right now so I need to prove that I’m not a complete idiot.

And yeah, I guess UCLA doesn’t require scores much higher than that, but I know it’s becoming more selective because of the economic crisis so it would be better to be on the safer side.

@abcd27 - Some people say yes others no. For score choice schools, it’s obvious that it really doesn’t matter how many times you take it. But do you really need to take it X times? Could you somehow improve your application in another way?

yankeedoodle, your canceled test does not count. I think if you study a little this time, you can get a better score. At least I’m hoping you can :P. I did not study for my two tests either and I will be taking it again with studying.

if you think that you can get 2200 a fourth time, then don’t let the 3 times thing stop you. what you don’t want is to take it a bunch of time and see no improvement.
