so i just realized i really dont know much about business at all so would someone kindly help me out a little...

what do

management consultants do?
what are hedgefunds?
venture capitalists?
invest bankers?

....also what should i study in business to go into each field...and are they all as cutthroat and hectic as they say they really are....i honestly dont believe the horror stories i read out there..haha

Use the search function or wikipedia/google. Those questions have been answered.

And yes one must be at the top of the field to truly make sizable amounts of money. Remember 90-95% traders fail and almost 90% of VC investments aren't profitable. So naturally being at the top is important. It can be as hectic as deemed necessary (some may just be talented while others have to work hard).

I think this forum should have a master thread that lists many different types of professions one could have besides investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or venture capital. A lot of CCers seem to think that's all there is to business.

^OMG boner, BB for life...lolz your right, but generally those are deemed to be the most profitable industries and I mean its like I feel possed when I hear the word Invesrment Banking. It the greed I tell you, the Greed......
