Do i have a chance?

any feedback pls?

I can't give you much feedback except that I was waitlisted with a 2270 sat, 4.0 in full IB, solid ec's, essays, and recs. I thought I had good leadership (class prez, student government), but I guess not enough. CMC values leadership and really looks to build a class. I really didn't get a good feel when i visited, so I wasn't all that surprised I didn't get in realizing that they probably saw I wasn't a good fit.

I'd say you need higher scores and better involvement in your community.

more leadership...show something that makes you unique...or something that shows initiative

Like what? I went to county in sci fair ummmm like its too late for clubs now what else can i do?

I compose my own music but i dont think colleges will appreciate the art of rap so im ****ed there

one of my friends got a 40k scholarship to cmc, and he had a 3.7 GPA uw, a moderately demanding courseload, a 1530SAT and 5s on 3APs, and not much extracurricular-wise outside of eagle scout and debate captain.

1530 on the 1600 scale right

Im gonna be a lab specialist for my AP chem teacher my AP scores came in not too hot

Chem 4
APUSH 2
Ap Language and composition 3

It is really looked upon highly to not only be in a leadership position in your high school, but to be a double or triple varsity athlete for at least three years. Our child was admitted, and here are her stats: Varsity swimming three years, varsity water polo three years (all state team, and state champs), year book art editor, sports editor for the school newspaper (three years), Youth Lead and Serve, Lifeguard, Water Instructor, Coach, National Honor Society President. This is the kind of leadership they are looking for and most of these kids really thrive on this lifestyle. Our child opted to attend another school, but it seems that Claremont is really looking for kids who love this kind of involvement and will seek it out on their own. They can actually keep a 3.9 or 4.0 and spend four hours a day practicing a sport, running an office and writing for a school publication- very much people people. Try to find an environment that suits you- do not try to be what you think the school is looking for.

I agree completely with islanddad. Remember that everything isn't a 100% numbers game. Just be a leader in what you love to do!
