The school sent my daughter and entire home room PSAT test papers late ( in Dec) for evaluation. Though my daughter scored 218 in PSAT her October score is not being considered. The school has adviced to file for alternate entry" Can Anyone explain? My understanding is she will have to take SAT. What should be her score? Is this fair as PSAT does not have English essay while SAT does. What should be her qualifying score? Please advice!
You need to ask the school why her score does not count. Fairness is kind of irrelevant. If the PSAT doesn’t count then that’s the only alternative for NMF.
There are circumstances in which an SAT score can be substituted for the PSAT score. You should call NMSC to verify but I don’t think the SAT essay counts. To get a score equivalent to a PSAT score, it would be the (reading score/10) + (math score/10) + Writing multiple choice score. The score for the multiple choice section of the Writing test is shown in the SAT score details.
