Alternate qualifying with SAT score

My S20 missed the PSAT date so they are letting him do an alternate entry with his SAT score. Does anyone have an idea of what the qualifying scores are for NMSF with an alternate entry? I know nobody can say for certain, I’m just hoping for a rough range to see if he has a chance. We’re in Colorado if that makes a difference. Thanks.

A popular blog predicts that the NMSF class of 2020 PSAT qualifying selection index score for Colorado will be 221. The SAT score can be converted to a selection index score by doubling the ELA score adding it to the math score and dividing the total by 10. Maybe others have different thoughts, but I would think this would give you a good idea.

What @WImom94 said, but the section scores will be capped at PSAT levels, so nothing higher than a 76 (760). So, if he gets a 780 on ELA, and 740 math, he actually calculates with the 760 for ELA instead. In that case, it would be 760+760+740=2260 then divide by ten to get a SI of 226.

A SAT of 710 ELA and 740 math (for example) would be 710+710+740=2160 for a SI of 216.

Thanks. If that’s accurate, he’s going to be a bit short at 201.
