yeah i was there too.

Hi, phi313. Again, I thought the Alumni Association did a great job with that event. It seems as if this region is successful in getting a fair number of applicants through to induction. We were at table 18 - you couldn't possibly have been at that table as well?! Good luck to your son. Is he in session 1?

The Superintendent of the United States Naval Academy, Admiral Rodney Rempt, and the Commandant, Captain (just promoted to Vice Admiral) Bruce Grooms, both demonstrate exemplary service to our nation. Important historic institutions like USNA grow and thrive with great leaders at the helm. Our children and our country benefit from their wisdom, talent, and dedication. Lets show our appreciation and respect for their commitment and leadership.

We must live in the Academy grad capital of the world. My next-door neighbor, two guys across the street, my business partner's husband and many of the parents of my daughter's friends. A girl who works in the triathlon shop down the street is a grad; she is always available to give tips on surviving plebe summer.

At a swim meet in Orlando this spring I was sitting next to a man wearing an "Army Swimming" t-shirt. His son graduated last year and is now in Iraq. We talked for a while. Please include Charlie in your prayers.

It is quite a network we have tapped into...

Captain/Vice Admiral Grooms informed us that Navy had four Rhodes Scholars this year - more than any other institution including Harvard. Harvard had only one Rhodes Scholar (who came from their graduate school.) He had done his undergraduate degree at Navy. Impressive.

Son was at tabel 3 and will be attending session 2, wife and I were at table 19 - close encounter....We liked the way Grooms handled himself. He was on purpose, direct, not a lot of flowery explainations and did not waist our time.
