Alumni Interviews

I know that in the big scheme of college admissions, interviews don’t count for much, but I was wondering how they work exactly. If you tell the school you’re interested in doing an alumni interview, do they put you in contact with one in your area? Or, if you know someone who went to that school (say, a friend of a parent or an administrator at your job) could you request you interview with that person? Does the school give you contact information for a few alumni and it’s up to you to contact one?

You can either request for an interview and they will set up an appointment with you, or they might call you for an interview.

You can't interview with someone you know. My history teacher is an alumni interviewer for UPenn. Anybody from my high school applying to UPenn interviewed with other alumni.
