Alumni Network & Internships

My daughter is deciding between Wellesley and Bryn Mawr. We weren’t as familiar with Bryn Mawr as Wellesley. She went to both open campus days and is having a hard time deciding. I know Wellesley has a great alumnae network for jobs, internships, career changes, etc. Does Bryn Mawr also have a good support network for students and graduates by the alumnae? How about programs such as internships in Washington, DC and international semester programs? She has just a week to decide so we’re trying to gather as much info as we can. By the way, she has a scholarship to Bryn Mawr and and will pay full price for Wellesley so that is also part of the decision.

Congratulations on your daughter’s admission! We understand that your daughter will be making a difficult decision in the upcoming days, and we would like to provide you with some additional resources.

Bryn Mawr has a number of systems in place to assist current students and alumnae in pre-professional and professional development. The Career Development Office is a bi-college office through Bryn Mawr and Haverford which maximizes two highly selective Colleges’ resources fostering career exploration, networking, outreach to employers and professional growth for students and alumnae/i. Students and alumnae can meet peer and career advisors to review resumes, enhance interview skills and explore options for externships, internships and future job placement: [Bi-College Career Development Office](http://www.haverford.edu/cdo/)
There is information specifically for parents at: [Bi-College Career Development Office](http://www.haverford.edu/cdo/pub/parent/)

Bryn Mawr also has on line alumnae network called Athena’s Web where graduates can connect with alumnae in her city, with similar work experience or from her major or class year: https://athenasweb.brynmawr.edu/brynmawr/auth/login

Students are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to study abroad for a summer, a semester or a full year. About 40% of the junior class will study abroad each year in one of the 70 Bryn Mawr approved programs. You can find additional information about these programs at: [Bryn Mawr College: Office of International Programs](http://www.brynmawr.edu/oip/abroad/)

We wish you and your daughter all the best and encourage you to contact Bryn Mawr Admissions directly should you have more questions.

Bryn Mawr has the reputation of having a wonderful alumni network. Though I feel like all of the seven sisters do.
