I hear people saying Michigan has the most largest alumni network in the world

Is this that important to consider when it comes to decide which college to go?

I hear people saying Michigan has the most largest alumni network in the world

Is this that important to consider when it comes to decide which college to go?

No not really.

They get many donations so they can function like a private school , and that leads to better facilities and the like. You can indirectly relate the two ,if you want to convinve yourself that Michigan should be your choice.

Yes, it is important to consider. If a university has a huge, ridiculously loyal and highly influencial alumni network, it can help you in landing a job or starting a business.

Holy cow, it's amazingly important.

When you're in school (for about 4 years):

They have provided the money that makes the school what it is. The BBA Program received a $10 million gift from a BBA alumnus and the school received a $100 million gift from another BBA alumnus.

They provide the corporate connections that form the basis of our classes that use corporate projects as a center piece.

When you're looking for a job or when you have a job (for 50+ years):

They are the basic reason that companies are coming to interview you --- because their experience with previous graduates was positive.

They are the people to whom you reach out for information about a company when you're looking for a job (either when you're in school or when you're in your 5th job).

So, my take is that your alumni network is hugely important.

I stand corrected :p.

My reasoning was that its indirectly related i.e. you take into account job placements , donations and the like. I guess then , when you are considering this - you indirectly consider the large Alumni so yeah.
