I'm well acquainted with an alum at Bates who does interviewing, and he has offered to interview me. Would interviewing with him or doing an on-campus interview be more beneficial?
thanks!

By all means talk to him, and if he writes a letter that’s fine. However, schools don’t usually allow alums who know you personally to interview you, so it’s unlikely Bates will consider that an alumni interview. If you can visit the school and have time, do it there. If not, contact the school to request an alumni interview.

Oh okay, good to know. I think I’ll go to the school for one, it’s not too far. Thank you!
