<p>I'm a semifinalist as well. I'd also like to know how many people make it through to finalist status - I didn't try very hard on my essays because I assumed there was no way I was going to get into Berkeley.</p>

<p>i'm hosting. it sux though, they give you you're students @ like 1130 or somehting, i wanna take 'em out and get'm a good time, by then they'll be tired out from being toured around.</p>

<p>I got an e-mail mentioning I made it into the finalist round for the Leadership Award. YAY!!!</p>

<p>Does anyone know if we can use the scholarship for anything (i.e. room and board etc)? Also, does the scholarship only work at UC Berkeley or can it be used elsewhere?</p>

<p>it only works at berkeley if you end up attending berkeley. it goes into your CARS accout, which is the system used to pay for tuition, dorms, and any university-based charges...so yes, anything university related as charged through CARS.</p>

but i never went to interview?
Wait does finalist mean that you get the scholarship? Or does it mean that you still have to go through one more round? I'm confused!! someone pls help!!</p>

here's the detail from my email...</p>

<p>We are pleased to inform you that you have advanced to the Finalist round, where you are now eligible to interview with Alumni Scholarship representatives from your area. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted sometime in the next several weeks, so there is no need to contact us. You will receive final word regarding your scholarship decision no later than April 24.</p>

<p>As an Alumni Scholarship Finalist, we'd also like to answer as many of your questions about our programs and the selections process as possible. For this reason, we'll host an online chat session this Friday, April 6, between 3-6pm Pacific time. You'll receive an invitation about this session shortly, but please feel free to drop by anytime and get your questions answered!</p>
