My sister attended and graduated from Princeton University a few years ago. Does that make me a legacy, or does one of your parents/grandparents have to have attended the school? How does it work?

Your not a legacy.

Nope. A parent can give you a little influence. But grandparents and parents are real factors that impress. Especially if they’ve given a hefty donation.

Nonetheless, you should list it anyways and hope it helps.

Some schools do consider a sibling to be legacy – schools have their own definitions. I don’t know about Princeton; you might want to ask in the Princeton forum.

Parents always make you a legacy if they attended the school for undergrad (grad school only is some cases), grand parents only sometimes make you a legacy (most often not at ivies), sibllings never make you a legacy.
