Am I acceptable to Cornell?

Unweighted Cumulative GPA-3.9
Weighted - 3.991 (except my school has a strange weight system; .002 extra GPA for every AP credit)
Freshman GPA- 3.75
Sophomore GPA - 4.0 (1 AP class + 1 "honor" - type)
Current GPA - 4.0 (4 AP Classes + 1 "honor" -type )

World History - 800

APs:
Statistics

Microeconomics
English Language(self study)

Next year's classes:
Physics - > AP Physics B
Psychology
AP Lit
AP US + Comparative Gov
AP Calc AB + BC
AP Computer Science AB

ECs:

Virtually nothing important. A few clubs like NHS, plus about 200-250 hours volunteering in public library. Next year I'll compete in FBLA competitions and will probably attend summer classes in the mean time.

Should I be able to make it?

No you have no shot what so ever dont even apply

nope, sorry

You have EVERY chance at Cornell...is this a brag post?

lol
scores for APs?

academically, you're at least fine (but what's with the relatively low SAT reasoning score compared to the significantly higher ACT and SAT II scores? weird...). if you can focus on something extracurricular like FBLA and get something effective across in essays, you'll be in.

Brag? Not really. Considering all this talk about ECs I kinda doubted my chances. And my GPA/SAT scores aren't too special either. I haven't got my AP scores yet, except for Geo (5).

I'm surprised at the discrepancy between my SATs and ACTs too. Probably because of the damn vocabulary questions.

wow.......

I would say reject, becuase you seem to be nothing but a nerd. :)

You seem to be a realistic candidate for Cornell, Ray. Which school are you interested in?

Certainly in the running. What is the class rank? Get a couple more interesting ECs to get involved in.

do they frown upon native speakers taking the SAT of their language? If so, take something other than Chinese...

Get involved in some ECs and try to get a leadership position. That's the only thing I could see really hurting you when applying.

I'm probably not as optimistic as some of the others due to your extremely weak EC's. I did, however, get in with similar EC's and great academics so you should def. apply.

Umm, maybe you should consider skipping college?

Don't listen to the people trying to be "funny mean". I think you are a strong candidate. You need more EC's obviously...definitely a weak point. You also need leadership. Actually now that I think about it u really really really need things other than the 3.9 gpa and 35 ACT (gj btw) on ur resume. You really need to work on things other then academics!!!

But... but my academics is my whole LIFE!!!!!!!

Actually I'm just too lazy to get involved in ECs. Gotta work on that I guess. :p

Don't sweat it...All my ECs were academic related like Olympaids and quizzes too. Just make sure your academics are strong enough to make for the ECs.

Try participating in a few more activities, and push up those SAT-1 scores a liitle.Your SAT II is ok. I'll advise u to take 1 or 2 more tho. If ur apply to ENG, then take Math IIC and Physics.

just try your best to show somewhat of possible leadership qualities that you have. if you're in fbla try running for a spot like prez or vp

just so you know a good friend of mine was waitlisted at the ag school with a 34 ACT and 96 gpa. he feels because of his lackluster ecs...

worst comes to worse, you can always lie on ur app, but face the guilt later on.....or start getting involved now my friend!

hey, those are a lot of volunteer hours. If you actually did that stuff because you wanted to, not to get into college, then incorporate that into your essays and you will be set.
But remember: there are NO guarantees.
