I just got a scholarship application for my local community college. Of course they need things like transcript and proof of residency and all that, and along with that they need my ACT scores, which I haven't taken. The deadline for this scholarship application is March 1, 2013 and the next time the ACT will be given is in April sometime. No late applications will be considered. So does not taking the ACT earlier mean I have sealed my fate on this scholarship? Or maybe I can update my transcript once I take the ACT? Any advice? Thanks.

You have to ask someone who is associated with the scholarship as only such a person would know. Sometimes, such as with most college apps, the deadline is the date that the main body of the application is received and test scores, transcripts, recommendation are often sent thereafter. But scholarships can have whatever rules they pleas. As if you can get everything in before the March 1 other than the ACT scores which would be coming after the April test date when you are taking the test.

Have you taken the SAT? Most scholarships accept either, and there is a concordance that equates one score to the other.

I haven’t taken any standardized college testing, no ACT or SAT. And here I am, at the tail end of my senior year stressing to get everything done.
