I don’t believe so.

I believe a first generation college student is one who has parents that have not attended college whatsoever.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I’m pretty sure that it doesn’t exclude other countries. First gen in the US, but not overall.

What if your dad graduated from a 4 year college but your mom is only a high school graduate? Does that benefit me in anyway? Both from outside of U.S.

First gen college student status is based on the highest degree held by either of your parents. So if your dad has a graduate degree and your mom has a HS diploma, you’re not first-generation.
