I am a 22 year old female. Currently I am living with my family (my mother and father) and I have been for about 2 months, but I cannot live here any longer and unsure of what I can do. I was living on my own for a year with roommates but couldn't keep up with my bills. I started using my credit cards so I didn't have to live with my mother again. That idea failed.. so I'm $800 in debt and now paying it off, plus now paying $100 a month on my sallie mae loans and fixing my car when it breaks out. I am living at home because I am trying to pay off my credit cards. My car is worth about $500 and falling apart. I can't live with my mother so I am forced to move out again and find another roommate situation. She's very unstable and unsupportive. My sister warned me about moving here again, but I felt I had to so that I can save money and one day get another car.
It said on FAFSA to require documentation of homelessness. I am not homeless now, but possibly at-risk. I have not been to a homeless shelter. I don't have anyone to vouch for me besides my roommates can say I lived with them for a year until two months ago. They don't know about my situation, though.
My mother is very mentally unstable and taking a lot of medications i.e. Klonipin, Paxil, Zanaflex, Cymbalta, Zegrid, MS Cotin, Morphine. She has social anxiety, depression, panic disorders, manic depressive, unstable moods, and a physical disability that does not allow her to work. Basically, it's a NIGHTMARE to live here and I would not be able to stay here for school. My mother used to be a herion addict when my sister was born. She stopped that, however, she used to trade prescription drugs and cheat on my father when I was little. She thinks very much like a child and I have always had the parent role. I've seen a counselor a couple of times a few months ago because of dealing with childhood trauma. My mother didn't finish high school either...

Basically, I'm trying to find a place to live on campus and my parents don't help me out financially. I pay for all of my food, gas, and used to pay for my rent. My last semester of college I got a D-, F, F, F on my grades trying to make it on my own working 55 hours a week. I want to retake those classes to get my GPA high again. My grades before that were mostly A's. Sorry if this sounds confusing, but unless you've lived with someone like this before...you would understand. I am trying to see if I can be considered independent and be eligible for financial help. I work as a nanny for one family. My father makes 57,000 per year and doesn't help me out. My mother receives 7,000 in disability per year as her only income. Help!
