Why don’t you try track. Track is a great sport for those who uncoordinated. You don’t have to be a star. I sure wasn’t, but just look at my location. :)

Coaches will be lenient with field trips and in some circumstances, even homework. It’s a lot more doable than you think.

And a sport is usually given more weight over a club in college admissions.

Yup, they are fun Usually they are only an hour. I was just beginning hip hop last October, 15 years old, and the youngest kid was like 8, and the next oldest kid was 12. I was embarrassed at first, but once I started doing well, I moved to the next level (my age group).

Legit? I can’t get out of dance without being there for at least two and a half hours, and I have to do that multiple times a week. And on Saturdays, I’m lucky to get out in three and a half.

You can’t really preserve the level of strength and technique necessary to improve in dance without going at least three times a week.

I just looked up my school’s after school club times and I could probably do the martial arts on Tuesdays and Thursdays after newspaper or Spanish and then just go to the gym on the weekend or is the martial arts pushing it with all the other clubs. Are intermurals given the same consederation as a club or more?

Well I use to take martial arts when I was younger so I thought it would be fun and I would get my exercise. Just one question though. Can it managable to do all these clubs and community service hours? I just want to be able to manage everything now because I am going to try and be one of the editors for my school newspaper as well as take AP classes.

I was wondering if I should take journalism or creative writing in 10th grade? Which one is harder? I like to write so I was trying to decide between the two classes. Since the creative writing class sends a folder of writing to differnt literary reviews and magazines I thought it would look for college. Either one I would be happy to take, but I can not decide.

I would suggest doing something other than just volunteering/taking courses for college credit. Vary it up a little! Maybe apply for different programs and things. Search here on CC there are tons of things I wish I’d known about before.

If you like writing creatively (poems, short stories, etc.), take Creative Writing. I took the Creative Writing series (I and II) this year, in 9th grade. I tried a (single) class of Journalism. I didn’t like the atmosphere, so I dropped it and added CW II.

Yes, it is possible.

I’m taking the hardest courses possible for my grade, tennis team (miss like 2 days every week, it’s horrible), drama productions, guitar, literary magazine, and I have close to 100 hours of volunteering this year. It’s manageable Missing all this school is hard, but I don’t think you’ll be missing this much.

I just figured that I should try to get ahead while I can. I want to try and be as prepared as possible so all this does not come as a shock to me when I start high school. Would the journalism help me with the newspaper? But I also started to write some poems lately so I figured that creative writing could help.

I was looking in a couple of college books and it says it is good if you have a job in high school which looks good on your college appliacations. Should I get a job in the summer like at Barnes and Noble or abandon the idea all together?
