if you can even get the job.

Is it better if you job goes with your planned major? I was thinking of going into business or law and my dad owns a real estate firm. Should I work there along with everthing else or wait until I am 16 to get a job somewhere else?

You are in 8th grade, so no offense, but what job related to your major will hire you? Also most actual jobs will also not hire you until you are atleast 16. IMHO don’t bother getting a job unless you really want to. Don’t do it for college because the amount of time that would be put into your job could be better spent getting good grades/studying for standardized tests/relaxing.
If eventually you do decide to get a job, try not to be working for your father (it screams nepotism).
Now about your schedule: you will be fine. your courses are not extremely difficult & you are not doing that many extra curriculars. Honestly, with your schedule, you shouldn’t be doing more than an hour of work at home each night. what freaks me out is how you have completely scheduled out your entire life for the next four years, even your weekends and summers (can you imagine as a high school junior planning where you will be applying to graduate school?). May I suggest only planning a year in advanced. It will save you alot of stress. =)

I already know I am very weird for planning out my high school scheldule now but I just want to make sure I do not waste may high school education or screw up any chance of getting into college. I have seen a lot of people in my life who screwed up their lives someway or another and I just do not want to end up like that. I also have been asking if my courseload is too much because I do not want to get sick from too much work because if that was the case I wanted to know now rather than later. I also though if I planned it out I would know my scholarship chances because I am not going to take out a loan for anything.

actually, I can. I know high school kids that are looking to go to cheaper (money wise) colleges so they can save up to get into graduate school XY or Z with less debt.

^ Don’t feel too weird! I planned out high school in 8th grade. It changed a TON since then though.

Is it better to start planning from 8th grade? I get that intrests may change, but is okay to have a basic outline of my high school schedule planned out right now? Really it kind of motivates to work hard for what I want.

^ Yes. Do it.

You will see people on CC wishing that they discovered this place earlier so they could have gotten into college X. Just don’t be afraid to adapt when your interests change! CC is def a good place to learn!

In HS you can afford to take 28973923938392 courses in all subject areas. In case your interests do change, you have a solid background for anything.

rayna3: what i meant was planning all of your college courses out (class for class like OP did) & activities up untill graduate school.

I don’t think there is so much of a problem planning out your classes as much as your activities/weekends/summers. Things never work out exactly as one plans them.

^ oh haha okay! I get it :D

Yes, it’s perfectly okay. It’ll change from month to month, so when your interest change, tweak your schedule a bit. Always work hard, sometimes you’ll have a period where you just wanna quit working so hard. But when that happens, look over your schedule and you’ll become motivated again. Browse through your favorite college’s website, if that’ll help.

I plan “big events” per summer. Like, this summer I’m going to Israel. Summer into 11th grade I’m going to a Japanese language program in the US for a month. Summer into 12th grade I’m going to Japan for 7 weeks. It’s not “this week I’m doing that” scheduling, but it certainly makes me anxious for summer!

I’m extremely happy I found CC before high school. It’s doing me well ^.^

STOP IT! You’re not even in high school yet. Go out and play.

I do not spend all my time on this site. I am just trying to learn a little before I actually get to high school. I have actually learned a couple new things that will probably help me in the future. It’s not like I am planning out every single minute of the next four years. I am just making a basic outline that will most likely change.

cool, she-brahhhh.
