Am I hurting my admissions chances

I reeeally didnt want to take Physics senior year, and I reeally did want to take two ss classes instead (AP Gov and AP econ) in addition to everything else

Am I going to hurt my admissions chances by not taking Physics (or science at all) senior year?

what do you plan to major in?
If you want to go for... like pre-med
I think you should take some science...
but if you are going in to Asian-Studies or something
I don't think it really matters.

Also depends on what level of college you'll be applying to.

Well I definitely will major in something like Gov/English/Classics, nothing math or sciencey
And I'm applying to good schools (Bates, Hamilton, Union kinda schools) no ivy league or anything like that thought

I think you'll be okay. If you're not majoring in science and you are challenging yourself while pursuing your interests, you should be fine.

Have you already taken physics, and you just don't want to take AP Physics? If that's the case, substituting two different APs for a fourth year of science is not likely to be any problem at all.

If you only have two lab sciences at this point, it's worth considering that a very few schools do strongly suggest three years of lab science, even if you don't have any intention of pursuing a science as a major.

In any case, it's probably worth a quick conversation with your GC, mostly to set your mind at ease. He or she is the only one who can answer the related question, of whether your schedule still meets his/her/your school's criteria for being the "most rigorous" possible.

How many science years do you have, out of curiosity?

Still, I don't think it's a big problem - those two ss courses seem to be challenging and better off than taking an unwanted science course.

I don't think that you must have 4 years of science to go to a good college (unless you plan to go to major in science which you don't seem to be), I know people that have 2~3 years of science and no science in senior year.

I really doubt it's gonna hurt your admission chance.

I do have 3 years of science (all lab science) IPS, AP bio, Chem. So, it's not like I havent done my fair share of science.

Then as I and other posters said, it's unlikely to be any sort of problem at all.

But again, if you feel uncertain or worried about it, your GC will have an answer that's more specific to you, your situation, and your school than anybody here could give you.

What is "lab science"? Is it like Biology, Chemisry, Environmental Sysyems, Earth Science, and Phsysics?

Lab science is a science class in which you do labs. So its more legit

if you do not want to major in science or math, you should be fine, especialy because you took an AP class, not just another gym or something

I am doing the same thing as you, hester, but flipped around!
I am planning on getting all my SS courses out of the way this year so I can double up in AP sciences sr. year. I won't have any SS classes in my 4th year.
I doubt it'll be a problem - Adcoms won't just look at your senior year courseload, but junior year as well. If they see that you've already taken your share of science courses and are not planning to major in something science-related anyway, it shouldn't matter..
