hey, i have a question which i have been worrying about lately and would appretiate it if you answer without making me feel worse about it, since im already deppressed as it is

my sat scores are simply TERRIBLE! im an international student and go to a school where english is not the language of instruction, so anyways i took the Sat, and scored 1026!! yes i know its the worst score anyone can get, so what are my chances of getting accepted into a first Tier College, *bear in mind that my GPA is pretty good and my toefl score is 86
???

Is this a 1026/1600 or 2400? All I can say is - work more and retake it! What are your subject test scores like? I'm not sure what your definition of "first tier college" is but you're going to need a little more than that, I think. Maybe try calling up the various admissions offices and ask? I don't know what their policy is towards students from non-english-as-a-language-of-instruction-schools. I know stanford and pals prefer 100+ on the TOEFL,but they might be willing to make exceptions.

LadyLike u r not applying for aid. and your only concern is getting admitted some place good?
Or you want aid too?
There are a lot of places which dont look at ypur SATs at all if you are not competing for any scholarship, etc
Hamilton
Gettysburg, etc
Please tell us a little more about your situation. Specifics. Your high school transcript. How good is that. You planning to give SAT2s?, etc

im not applying for aid

about the sat 2 i took it this january and and am expecting my scores pretty soon, but i dont think they'll be any better
im a senior and i have already applied to a number of colleges but im starting to worry if ill get in since they are all first tiers, such as bryn mawr??
and my grades are usually A's..

OK so here is the deal Look for SAT Optional Movement. All colleges part of the said coalition agree not to look at your SATs at all. There is a great variety of colleges and i am sure you could find many which you like.
And you should try a few state universities, and look up colleges with high acceptance rates.

You can find here a list of the colleges which do not consider the SAT in the admission process if you ask them not to. But many of them may have different policies for internationals so look thoroughly Optional List | FairTest
