I recently got an email about the UCLA alumni association sending out offers for people to apply for scholarships and they said I qualify to apply for two available. On the original email it said that this does not mean I'm in but when I began applying I receieved another and on that one it signed off by saying they are looking foward to seeing me next fall. I asked around at my school and no one else has recieved the email, so what does it mean? Should I even apply?

They want you to apply for the scholarships, so do that NOW!!

Looking forward to seeing you means that they are hopeful that if you do get in, you will choose that university.

Sorry, but it doesn’t mean you’re in, everyone who’s strongly considered gets that. The “see you in the fall” part is them being positive and trying to make you feel good. However, the fact that you got the e-mail means they’ve processed your app and think you have a good chance.

Okay thanks, I’ll apply for it. Their phrasing just made me a little confused. I do hope this somehow helps out my chances
