So I just love Britney Spears all of a sudden. I fell in love with Rhianna.
Am I insane? Am I thinking too much? Is anyone having the same issues, lol.
Lol

"Is anyone having the same issues?"

No, because I listen to good music haha

Lol, yeah. Oh no, I am lost! I am insane, and officially out of my mnid.
Rhianna and Britney Spears!
My genre is country! I am a total Kenny Chesney fan.
I do not know where Brit and Rhianna came from.

Hey. Toxic was really good.

YES IT IS!! Oh!!
Then there is circus. I mean, there are no elephants around here, but that beat is beast.
I think celebs should just be given a normal life; make music and movies then go and sleep and work a normal job. No make up, extra money or Oscars and major awards

Wow. Kenny Chesney, too? You are extremely lost.

YouTube - Sam Beam at Messiah - House By the Sea (2/10/07)

There. Go clean yourself up.

No thanks. I think Kenny, Keith Urban and the rest of the country crew have done a good job. I would not trade country for rock.

Shave your head.

Woo! I like Britters and Rihanna too. And some country. There's a country band I like called Her and Kings County, but they're not "real" country because they're from New York, they play what they call "city country". Good stuff though.

im not a fan of country. i kind of like a bit of every genre. im really feeling mgmt right now...everyone should go listen to kids by mgmt...its mindblowing.
but i will say this: britney spears' music is the shiznit.
circus, break the ice, hit me baby one more time are my faves

If you looked at my second video, Sam Beam (Iron & Wine for you plebes) is not rock. He's acoustic folk, and he's possibly the greatest singer/songwriter alive.

He writes ten-page poems and turns them into music, without repeating a single lyric. He's too good for commercialism and "catchiness." He's also an incredibly nice guy (met him once, and almost died lol)

Two of my favorite stanzas, from his song "The Trapeze Swinger":

Please remember me
mistakenly
in the window of the tallest tower
Call, then pass us by
but much too high
to see the empty road at Happy Hour
Leave and resonate
just like the Gates
around the Holy Kingdom
with words like "Lost and Found"
and "Don't look down"
and "Someone save temptation"

...

Please remember me
my misery
and how it lost me all I wanted
Those dogs that love the rain
and chasing trains
The colored birds above there, running
in circles around the well
and where it spells
on the wall behind St. Peter's
so bright with cinder gray
and spray paint
"Who the hell can see forever?"

Another one of my favorites, a song called "Philosophia" by a band named The Guggenheim Grotto:

"When we’re young we set our hearts upon some beautiful idea
Maybe something from a holy book or French philosophia
Upon the thoughts of better men than us we swear by and decree a
Perfect way to end the war of ways the only way to be a

Work of art, oh to be a work of art

But in time a thought comes tugging on the sleeve edge of our minds
Perhaps no perfect way exists at all, just many different kinds
Oh but if it’s just a thing of taste then everything unwinds
For without an absolute how can the absolute define…

A work of art, oh to be a work of art"

Those are powerful lines. You should have given me this little insight into the second video. When I clicked on it, I was lost. I usually listen to country so some things may not be what I listen to.
I write poetry; I have two notebooks of poems.

Oh to portugueseninja and hdada91, you guys rock! Honestly, I wish we could meet. Everyone on CC should introduce themselves on Yale bulldog day... if we get to meet

I agree with that last part!

P.S. Sam Beam's beard occasionally reaches epic proportions. Sometimes he starts to look like Jesus hahaha: YouTube - (Behind) Closed Doors: Iron & Wine

Hookem, I am devestated.

Just as I thought that you seemed like a pretty cool guy, I found out that you don't like Kenny Chesney.

Inconceivable.

hookem, we are friends from now on. Whenever you need help, PM me.
Dude, I have not shaved or cut my hair. I will do so on March 31st.
I look HORRIBLE!! Oh My GOD!!!! I am like a teenwolf, or Mike Jackson on thriller.
I am like a hippie from March 16, 1969. I am a beast, so where is my beauty.

^ I live in Texas, which has probably negatively influenced my view of country. Plus, since I live in Austin (live music capitol of the world), there are so many better options available that it's ridiculous.

For instance, I went to ACL (Austin City Limits) this past September, and saw tons of bands, including:

Iron & Wine, of course (I almost fainted)
Silversun Pickups
The Mars Volta
City and Colour
Robert Plant & Alison Krauss
Louis XIV
M. Ward
The Kills
MGMT

Once you hit that level of songwriting and melodies, Kenny Chesney starts to sound atonal and unsophisticated in comparison.

and Michael jackson is actually (probably) the "pop"piest thing I listen to.

"Bad" is a great song (made even better by Weird Al's "Fat" lol)

Lol. But Kenny's music has a cool suuuhwweeeeeet touch to it. It is like swimming in a pool of pepsi.
I guess the reason I love country is because of the storyline of most songs. It is about life and its ups and downs. It is simply, great!

Swimming in a pool of pepsi is definitely a phrase I have never heard before. I like it! :)
