Should i consider myself "kicked out" of grad school?

My overall GPA is a 2.86. My last semester, I took 5 classes (one of which was a grad class) and got an overall GPA of 3.7.

I was accepted into grad school despite mylow GPA.

I just took a final in psychology 101. I completely BOMBED it. I was getting an A- in the class too. (I actually got sick right before taking the exam, so I wasn't feeling well at all. But it's too late to change anything.)

My overall grade in the class is a C+ (2.30). That's going to kill my GPA.

I'm a computer science major. I'm going to start my master's in the fall. Does it matter that I did horrible in this class? My other classes I did fine in (B in 1, and A- in 2 of them). I'm worried that I'm going to get kicked out of grad school. :(

Most likely not, as long as you graduate. They have already made their decisions and as long as you have your degree, you are OK. However, a 2.86 won’t cut it in graduate school. You will need to maintain a B average and consider a C a failing grade. Take the summer off and make sure you go into the new academic year with the right attitude.

My cumulative GPA is below a 3.00, but my in major GPA is like a 3.1 or 3.2

So I guess as long as my in major GPA is a 3.00, it should be ok?

I’m just hoping they understand it’s a dumb “general elective” that I need to take for graduation purposes.

As I said, no worries as long as you complete your B.S. degree this term.

Why are you asking strangers, instead of the program to which you have been admitted? What did your letter of admission specify? Completion of degree? Maintenance of a certain GPA?
