<p>Actually, when I got my acceptance email, I couldn’t tell which Cal Poly is was from, either. It didn’t say “SLO” anywhere. The only way that I could tell was that it said “Mustangs” instead of “Broncos” and in the video, they talked about it being right next to the ocean. Other than that, I couldn’t tell. I can definitely see how that could happen.</p>
<p>Cal Poly SLO’s official name is California Polytechnic State University. </p>
<p>There is no San Luis Obispo attached to the University’s official name. Hence, it is also known as Cal Poly. </p>
<p>CP Pomona’s official name is California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Hence, Cal Poly Pomona for short.</p>
<p>So if you only see Cal Poly in your portal, it is always Cal Poly SLO.</p>
