Am I making big mistake before college apps? College class or AP's?

My problem involves weighing dropping two AP classes I don't want or need and taking a community college class, or toughing out the semester in the two AP classes.

I'm stuck with a very frustrating problem, and no simple solution. I attend an underfunded, slightly under-performing public school in California. Resources are lacking, and as a result, I am unable to pursue my academic goals in the manner in which I would like to.

I just began my senior year earlier this week, and, having nearly completed the core curriculum (I have two courses left, but got to choose how to get those credits), I thought I would be much more free to pursue my goals and interests this year. I'm a high-performing student; I've gotten A's as all but three grades in three years, and while I understand my chances to get in are very slim, I'll be applying to maybe two Ivies and maybe a few other low-acceptance schools (Georgetown, Northwestern, UC Berkeley, UCLA, etc).

Anyway, my school doesn't exactly offer the classes I want to pursue my interests in. I'm taking AP Lang, AP Gov, AP Spanish, and there are literally zero other classes that interest me (which I haven't already taken). The way my schedule has played out, from today until January, I have AP Bio and AP Calculus after lunch, and those happen to be the two classes I am least interested in. It is absolutely nothing against biology or calculus, or the teachers; I acknowledge their tremendous importance to our world, it's just that my interests happen to be more into social sciences, and literature and all those types of classes. I am miserable in both classes, (am completely lost as well, which is a partial cause of the misery) and am considering switching out of both to take a college class after my morning classes.

My question is: Would taking a community college class on something that interests me be a smarter idea than sticking with my two AP classes (which, let's not forget, are on topics I have very little interest in pursuing in life)?
Or would taking an elective-type look bad when I have AP Bio, AP Chem and AP Calc available?

I know what'd I'd rather do (pursue my interests in the college class), but I'd like to know what colleges I apply to in fall will think of it. would colleges frown upon turning away from the AP's?

Any answers/help/advice appreciated
Thanks

It depends at what schools you are looking at. Though there is absolutely an art to balancing what you want to do and what you think will look good to colleges. If you are looking at top tier schools stay in the AP classes, if not you should be ok to switch.
