Am i Missing a Basic Requirement??

Hey guys,

Ok so i am a bit confused. Since i am a full IB DIploma Candidate, i am taking Bio and Chem probably both at Higher Level IB. The IB Schedule does not allow me to take Physics along with these two Sciences. So i am taking four years of sciences but i do not have any years of Physics. I am going into pre med and am probably going to major in one of the sciences like biological or something similar. So my question is, for top privates like JHU, Rice, Emory and some Publics like U Mich. do i need atleast one year of Physics? I am not going into engineering or anything even close like that. Thanks for your time!

Have you gone to the websites for the colleges you're interested in?

A quick look at UMichigan gave this:

University of Michigan - Office of Undergraduate Admissions

"5. Freshman applicants to the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts are REQUIRED to have completed the following: 4 years English, 3 years mathematics, 2 years biological and physical sciences, 3 years history and social sciences, 2 years of the same foreign language."

entomom i read that.. but i am still confused... 2 years of physical science... does chemistry fall under that? Could you please let me know if i HAVE to take physics for these schools as requirements because my school doesnt allow me to. And also, i have visited their websites but found nothing.

Yes chem is a physical science.

What sciences did you have in your first 2 years of HS? My sons' Middle Years Program science covered Biol, Chem, and Physics - roughly equivalent to a year of each.
