Am I on the right path for Stanford/MIT?

The years coming to an end so i just wanted yall's opinion on my stats. Im a white sophomore in a private highschool.

Unweighted GPA: 3.97

This summer i will be going to the Stanford EPGY institutes for geometry. I also was accepted to do volunteer work at the planetarium of the virginia living museum, so i expect to do at least over 100 hours of volunteer work there. Next year, i will also be joining a robotics team, starting a computer programming club, and ill try to get some leadership positions in Tri-M, French Club, and the programming club ill make. How good does this look so far? Anything else i should focus on?

bump......

What was your PSAT math score? That's the most important fact we need. How much math will you get through before applying? For MIT you'll need close to 800 on the math SATI and 2c. They are more flexible on CR and writing.

For Stanford you'll need much closer to the 2300 than 2100 and some leadership positions.

Oh god. Don't come here when you are a sophomore. TRUST ME. I came to CC middle of junior year. Makes you feel like crap. It's an addiction. Don't worry; just try your best and be the best you can be.

63 reading, 66 math, and 67 writing skillz. Ill be able to get it up above a 70 on the PSAT next year. I hadnt prepared at all for the PSAT this year and it was the first time i had ever taken it. The math course ill be taking at Stanford this summer, a new ti-89 titanium, and an SAT prep course ill be taking in september will definitely help me next time around.

btw, im very glad i came here now and i wish i would have sooner. Yeah, it does make u feel like crap, but u get a great idea of the competition ur facing. Plus, the robotics team im doing next year is thanks to someone on the board here who showed me about it and got in touch with the team for me.

You're right, it's unfortunate, but the sooner you start preparing the better. Robotics is great. Consider advanced math classes through community college or EPGY every summer. You really want to focus on scoring close to 800 in math for MIT or Caltech.

would 3 leadership positions be enough?

the mode for SATI math scores at MIT is 800...so get that 800 so you can get your foot in the door...if you can't get it don't feel terrible...my friend got into MIT with only a 690 SAT M score ...he was regional champ and state finalit in various math competitions and scored over 700 on all of his SAT2s with with 12 credit hrs in college level math from a community college and a 4.0 uw gpa...so it is not everything but it helps
