Am I on the right track as a HS sophomore?

I’m currently scared that my extracurriculars and my courses aren’t rigorous enough at the moment and I don’t know if it’s just me. Also, I’m trying to get into a really good college in the major of computer science, such as CalTech, and MIT because I’ve had a strong interest in this since elementary school. I am also aiming for an sat score of 1500 or above(already started prepping) and 34 or higher on act.

Freshman yr: Biology, honors freshman english, spanish 1, visual art, integrated math 1/2, and PE

(current sophomore yr) - honors world history, honors sophomore English, Chemistry, Spanish 2, integrated math 2/3, and computer programming and game design

None of these classes are weighted for both yrs

The first two semesters I got a’s in all classes(4.0 UW)

End of 1st semester in sophomore yr is coming up but so far have all a’s.

And for my extracurriculars:

  • 11 years in Girl Scouts( still in it)
  • From this, I received my silver award in reconstructing a Girl Scout cabin for other future Girl Scouts yo use
  • Planning to get my gold award Jr or senior year for Girl Scouts -Played Jv freshman yr, playing varsity sophomore yr to senior yr which takes up 6 days a week for every 10 months each year -Work on Fiverr as a freelancer who creates dance videos for struggling musicians
  • I’ve been in Women of Color empowerment club since freshman yr( planning to stay in it til senior yr and see if I can become president eventually)

And for Jr yr, I’m planning to take Ap Physics A, Ap Comp, APUsh, Honors Spanish 3(half-weighted), honors pre-calculus(full-weighted, computer science

I don’t know if it would be a good idea to take precalculus over summer so I can be in Ap calculus ab instead or Spanish 3?

And I am also an African- American.

You are doing just fine.

Don’t drop Spanish. Most competitive schools want to see 3 - 4 years.

As long as you get to calculus by senior year, you don’t need to take anything over the summer. Use that time to work, volunteer, etc…Next summer is also a good time to really put in hours practicing for standardized tests. In addition to the SAT or ACT, you’ll also need SAT II subject tests.

That said, spend your time next year exploring schools that have the same techy vibe as MIT and Cal Tech so you have a list of match and safety schools that you love and are affordable. Even if you had perfect stats, MIT/Cal Tech are big reaches for every student. Your time will be better spent coming up with a realistic list of schools.
