Am I on the right track to Early Action Admission @ Harvard?

Hi

I am a freshman, and I am very serious about having a future at Harvard. To give you some more info to work off of, here...

Freshman year:

Advanced English (honors not avail) - A
Advanced English (honors not avail) - A
Honors Geometry - B
Honors Bio- A
French 3 (honors next yr) - A+
Italian 1 (skipping to level 3 next yr)- A

For next year, I am scheduled in...

Honors English
AP US history
Honors Algebra 2
Honors Chem
Honors French 4
Italian 3
Student leadership (elective)

As far as extra curriculars, I volunteer at the local museum and I am a junior educator. I also study Arabic. I am a Muslim, but I converted by my own choice. I am very passionate about womens rights particularly in the Middle east (I was inspired after reading The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, and I am searching for an organization in relation to this to join. I am a member of the Model UN club, and I plan on staying all through HS. I pitch/play softball in a travel league outside of school. (I quit the school team- it was crazily demanding and none of the coached understood the importance of my academics bc most of the team is...different...). I am not a legacy, or a first generation student.

My GPA (weighted) this is about a 4.2 ish...I think this is due to the lack of honors available to freshmen. Also, as I am a French student, the school has done me a huge dishonor because only Spanish students can take honors as a freshman. This has caysed quite a skew in my GPA seeing as French is my best subject.

So, basically I am wondering if I am on the right track and what else I can do to improve my chances. I know it is way to early to say if I'd get in, I am more concerned with if I am on the right path. Any advice would mean the world to me!

Thanks!

Objectively - Get in on AP/IB classes if your school offers them asap. Take the SAT and start working toward an excellent score.

Subjectively - Continue to pursue your passion for women’s rights. If it’s truly your passion, do as much as possible that will demonstrate to Harvard that you are serious about the subject.

What kind of things do you reccomend I do about women’s right? Im a little stuck :/

Start an organization, run it, get national exposure, make it successful.

I know its a bit off topic but i just finished reading The Kite Runner last night and A Thousand Splendid Suns 3 days ago and i thought these books were beyond amazing. I feel like i have to tell everyone about it and thats exactly what i do. My friends can’t wait to read them!

I think you should seriously consider NYU Abu Dhabi University. You sound like a good fit for the place. Since you’re interested in Harvard, it seems like you care a lot about prestige (don’t deny it), and given that this place accepted only 200 out of 9,000 applicants, I’d say it’s pretty damn prestigious.
You never know…you should at least check it out!

you have to realise that last year, 94% of students who applied to Harvard were rejected. That number is only going to go up.

You should not make getting into Harvard your objective in HS, because no matter who you are, what your grades or scores are, it is overwhelmingly likely that you will not get in.

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, but do not stake too much of yourself on this shot going in. Use high school as a chance to learn more about yourself as a person and a consumer of knowledge. If you do this with seriousness and persistence, you will be in a position to get into a college which will launch you on a good path.
