I’m only a sophomore in high school now, but I already know I really want to go to Brown. I have a 4.1 grade point average right now, and I had a 4.0 my freshman year. I’m taking all honors except for Geometry, Latin, and my art classes. One of these classes includes AP World History. I want to major in English, as I love writing and reading and someday want to be an English teacher. I’m involved with the school newspaper, literary magazine, and creative writing club. I volunteer every summer at a reading camp.

To some this might seem good, but I’m just very worried because it seems like in this day and age, at least at my competitive school, almost anyone can get all A’s and a 4.5 grade point average. I feel like my grades are good, but not good enough to get into Brown, and I’m not showing any ‘leadership’ in anything. Am I worrying for nothing, or is there something I should work on?
