How does your school weight AP classes? And your GPA isn’t weak at all.

for every A you get in an AP class .8 gets added on to your total gpa, every B .7 every C .6 and so on
for honors classes its .6 for an A, .5 for a B… you get the picture haha
i may be slightly overestimating (hope not haha) but thats a rough approximation. the reason i feel that its kind of low is because all the people on the ivy league threads have like 110’s and crazy scores.

I know it’s still early, but you might want limit the list of your Work experience/ECs to a more focused picture. Keep the ones you’ve been in for a while and think about what you’d like to do. Is science your thing?, then the hospital and tutoring experiences are good. Is it because you’re strong in art? then the art and yearbook clubs highlight that focus. It’s not simply that you should be a strong student, it’s that you have a focus, a direction. This is particularly important for students at Brown with their Open Curriculum.

yeah thanks soo much! i was thinking the exact same thing my two main focuses are medicine and visual arts. ultimately, i want to be a doctor but unlike every other premed student i want to major in visual arts (w premed requirements) rather than biology…to stand out. So a curriculum like liberal arts is perfect. I’m most likely omitting insignificant ECs such as book club and irrelevant things like that from my actual application
