So right now I am a sophomore in a top 100 new york public high school. At the beginning of the college search, Georgetown immediately popped out as one that I would want to look into after attending NAIMUN. When looking at my schools Naviance, which allows me to see the average weighted GPA of kids from my school who got in places I noticed Georgetown’s was a 99-100. My sophomore year GPA is about a 98 at the moment and freshman years is about a 96. Is this difference in GPA something I should be worried about? I know that this is a broad question so I’m not looking for specific answers, I just want to know if with on par standardized testing and good EC’s will I be in the playing field for admission.
Thanks!
There are many aspects of the application, and having slightly lower stats in GPA shouldn’t be a cause for concern if your other stats are on-par. Not to mention, you still have a year and a half to boost your GPA up to a competitive place.
Admissions aside, I’m glad you enjoyed NAIMUN! It’s always great for us when people tell us how NAIMUN impacted their college search.
