Am I on the right track?

I am going to be a sophomore next year at a private school. My school considers their regular classes to be honors classes, and thus, offers few honors classes for freshman or sophomores--and I am taking every one that I could.

I received all A's and 3 B+'s first semester last year due to some personal issues. Second semester, however, I received all A's. There were no honors courses available to me as a freshman.

Next year, I will be taking the only two honors courses offered to sophomores.
My extra curricular activities are as follows:

Summer Before Freshman Year
-Volunteered for two political campaigns
-Volunteered at a hospice
-Junior Board at a hospital (ongoing)

Freshman Year
-Taekwondo
-Mock Trial
-Academic Quiz Team
-Spanish Club
-An organization where the members volunteer with local charities
-An organization where the members write letters to children at a local elementary school and act as mentors
-Drama club
-Continued volunteer work with the hospice and junior board from the summer

Summer before Sophomore Year
-Summer program at Georgetown University
-Summer program at Princeton University
-2 Internships with two different State Senators
-Volunteer work with the hospice from the previous summer
-ongoing activity with the Junior Board from the previous summer
-taking Arabic classes
-teaching disabled children to swim

My question is, am I on the right track to get into an Ivy League?

Also, could you recommend some summer programs for next year that carry more weight for college admissions? I have found a few (TASP, etc.) but they are for the summer after junior year, or they are for science or math. I am interested in the field of international relations, political science, history, Middle Eastern Studies, or East Asian Studies.

b. - On track to have a competitive application? Can’t tell. On track to get into an Ivy League school? No.

Of course it’s too early to rule out an Ivy. You haven’t even taken the PSATs yet. You do show lots of participation. But where are the accomplishments? Prizes, awards, leadership positions, etcetera. What are the activities that define you?

I hate these! Typical “give me some confirmation and tell me I’m good” post.

Kid, your doing good. Get a job when your old enough and show consistency. Also, do what you like not what you think is going to get you into Ivy League (Did your parents post this?). The things you listed are all over the place.

-Summer program at Georgetown University
-Summer program at Princeton University

if paid for, these are not impressive to colleges… just showing that oyu have money

Well, yeah, they’re all over the place. I’m only going to be a sophomore. It was my first year of High School…I wanted to try a lot of different things to see what I liked.

In order to more focus myself on one area, what would you recommend? What can I drop? I like doing the community service, so I won’t drop that, and the political things are what I am passionate about.

Here’s the problem, the programs that I’m doing are interesting to me, and yeah, they cost money, but I couldn’t find programs that would be considered more prestigious offered to incoming sophomores, if you could recommend some, either for this summer, or next summer, that would be fantastic!

Awards? Etc? I was a freshman. Freshman don’t get awards, or leadership positions. Those all belong to the Seniors and Juniors. What are some contests/awards that I could work towards that fall in my areas of interest?
