Am I on Track?

I'm currently a junior in high school, and I'm going to apply to USNA's summar seminar program, which will start my application process for getting into USNA. Here's how my resume looks:

3.8 unweighted gpa
4.5 weighted gpa
3 years varsity cross country
3 years varsity wrestling- currently captain
SAT- 600 reading, 680 math, 630 writing
I will be an Eagle Scout by the time the application is submitted

Am I on pace to get accepted to USNA?

Is it necessary for me to contact my local congressman before I actually start the application process?

Yes … and no.

You’re asking if you’re on track to being “accepted.” None here … nor at USNA could venture any kind of guess toward answering that with any credibility, unlike doing so at a secular institution.

You see your primary pool of competitors is not known.

Perhaps your better question at this moment in your planning is, “Am I on pace to make myself competitive for consideration for an offer of appointment.” Now, you might think that is merely a verbose way of asking your question, but you’ll better understand the nuance and differences as you progress through the process. It’s not simple.

And “yes” would seem to be the answer to this question. Keep up the good work. Be and stay healthy. Work on your pushups, pullups, crunches, and running. Learn to swim as well as possible before you’d report. Buy your junior year math and English teachers BIG Xmas gifts (they are the ones you’ll need to provide world-class recommendations). And behave. P.S. No tatoos. ;)

Thanks for the input.

Concerning cfa, I can do 70 pushups, 18 pullups, and I run a 6:00 mile. I’m not sure about situps because my abdominal exercises consist of different kinds of planks. Does the cfa factor into admission, or is it just a pass-fail situation?

Nice work. Answers are yes and yes.
