I’m a High School Junior and just was wondering. If I do kind of badly on the math placement test in community college, can I still take whatever class I want? I really just want to get into all my requirements to transfer and not be held down by this if I don’t do well for some reason.
Generally no; you will have to take the class that your placement requires. That is the point of the placement test. And if you test low and try to take a harder class, your chances of success are not good so you will just be wasting time.
But every school has different policies so you will have to ask the school you are interested in attending.
The main thing is to take the placement test seriously. If the test is Accuplacer, there are many online resources to help you prepare.
