i took a leave of absence from lmu, and thought i would take a few classes while i was at home. I am in the middle of my second term at the community college, but i never got permission from the student dean to do so. I thought it wouldn’t matter when i submitted my transfer course approval forms.
what my question is if they can terminate my enrollment at the university because of this?
i looked on the national clearinghouse website and they have me listed as “w” for lmu. am i royally screwed? can a university terminate you without sending any notice?
i am FREAKING out right now because i don’t know what to do. any help or information on the matter would be appreciated.
You might get a better answer to this question if you post on the LMU specific board - this board is for non-trad students, people who typically are older and took more than a year off after high school before pursuing their degree.
Take all of this with a grain of salt…
LMU has you down as “W” which would mean that they consider you to have formally withdrawn. I assume that they also made sure to cancel out any fin aid you might have had coming your way as well.
If you took classes through your local community college, then the bottom line is that you should have enrolled as a transient student who had the full intent of re applying (or whatever the case may be) to LMU. But, since you are down at LMU as “W” you might not have had to do that anyways.
Therefore, you need to e mail about to LMU and see where you stand. Then, you need to just email about to the addy offices of your local area community college and ask to be deemed a transient student. If you do both of those things and did not do anything ghastly whilst at LMU (I am assuming you probably fell ill or something equally as innocent, actually). Then, you would be alright.
This is all the best I can come up with.
