Thought I'd make a thread for the transfer students, since one hasn't been created.

Cool. I’m a transfer…still waiting. Last year, transfers never heard back til late May…and some didn’t hear back til like early June. That’s SOOOOOOO late…i’m going on a trip on May 23rd so hopefully a decision comes by then! I need to deal with the paperwork before i leave the country!

Glad to see some Perspective LMU Transfers on here!!! I’m also waiting for my decision…I’m so anxious and nervous its crazy!..And Yeah I remember a lot of my friends who transferred last year didn’t hear back till late May/early June…hopefully things are done differently this year. I would hate to wait that late to hear from them

Do most transfers get into LMU?

Hmmm…from my understanding approximately 50% of transfer applicants get admitted…maybe a little more

Oh Okay I was just curious and a bit concerned because of my G.P.A.

whats your gpa? My HS gpa was really bad…3.2. but my first semester college is 3.9. i’m trying to transfer as a sophomore… which is harder…

Worse than yours…2.8 (B- Average), but people told me not to worry as much because of my extra curricular activities, volunteer work, personal statement, and work experience including working for as a RA for my current school for residential life, being a African American male who grew up in the inner-city and is Low Income. But Last year I knew a few people who got in under who were in a similar situation (G.P.A wise), I’m just nervous that I might not be one of the lucky ones…

Any feedback Lol!

P.S
It’s really discouraging when your G.P.A is lower than a lot of people on here have 3.5+…Oh and the reason my G.P.A dropped was because of a D I received in a Logic Course. The class was very difficult but I emailed all my schools to inform them that I’m taking the course over this summer. And I’m transferring in as a Junior for this fall.

i’m a transfer student as well applying to be a sophomore but i have only completed one semester of junior college i have a 3.7 gpa but with only 17 units. will lmu request my spring grades before making a decision or solely base it off my 17 units?

They’ll probably ask for your High School Official Transcripts since you’re under 30 units.

I applied as an out of state transfer. Have GPA of 3.8 with 18 hrs. The transcript I sent them listed my present classes that Iam taking for Spring semester. According to LMU Admissions, 30 hrs is where they wld like transfers to be if going into Film. Also sent a recommendation letter from one of my teachers. Hope they don’t need HS GPA, It was 3.1, and when I applied after HS they deferred me till I had some college in. Hope we hear something soon!

Oh Okay, I stand corrected.

We transfer applicants probably won’t hear back till after April 5th. LMU is on spring break till April 2nd.Oh well…

You’re right eclineman, when I called LMU they said they would start looking at transfer applicants and giving decisions starting the week after their spring break.
