um...no your not screwed. there are ways around the rank. my school has the same rank pathology, and all you need to say is (in a quick paragraph on another sheet of paper), have the counselor explain your low rank and why. try it.

what do u mean that people who are taking only 2 honors classes are ahead of you? that's retarded. they don't weight it differently for ap classes?

like im taking 1 ap and 7 honors classes with consistent 91-95 and a 87 in Ap biology (great for my school my teacher has a 90% for 5's on the test but she is impossible throughout the year) and two of my honors r senior classes ..... but my school has it that kids with a 94 in a non honors class have a better rank then me with 91's in all honors and 87 in Ap .... ridiculous much

i can't imagine you think you'd be screwed! you look terrific(unless you're just fishing!) besides, schools re-calculate grades with their own formulations, which minimizes rank and GPA as your school knows it.

I just noticed your post. I think that you have done very well. Also, if your SATs do improve to where you expect, do not underestimate yourself. Even if they do not, you have done a great job in school. Colleges know what the real deal is in terms of rankings. I believe that they ask the questions that you are concerned about...specifically, whether or not they know that kids with a less difficult program are ranked more highly than you are. I would not worry about this so much. Why don't you call the college admissions offices of the schools you are most interested in, and ask the question. Also, you might want to tactfully mention the rankings situation somewhere on your application...but not in a mean way...Don't put other kids down while you are trying to explain the situation. Rankings are not looked at in a vacuum, I am sure. You will do well. Choose wisely. Perhaps you should apply early to the school you want most. Aim high, but do not overshoot the mark, and lose your early decision/action on a too risky choice. But, don't aim too low, either. Pick a dream school that seems possible, although a bit of a reach. And don't panic. You will do well. Good luck.
