Am I screwed?

<p>I am entering senior year next year and am wondering if I have screwed myself in terms of course load, ie not enough APs. I have a 94% or 95 average, and I have above 91% in all classes.</p>

<p>Junior Year:</p>

<p>Biology 12
Math 11 Honors (actually Math 12)
English 11 Honors (will be getting English 12 credit)
Physics 11
French 11 Accelerated (will be getting French 12 credit)
Social Studies 11
US History AP
Chemistry 11 Honors</p>

<p>Senior Year:</p>

<p>Human Geo AP
Bio AP
Calc AB AP
English AP
Chem AP
Physics 12</p>

<p>Don’t be stupid. You’ll be fine. I didn’t have any AP’s and I got into some good colleges.</p>

<p>It depends on where you are considering applying. Taking AP Chem, AP Bio and AP Calc is not going to be easy… Just do your best and take your shot. There is nothing else you can do and I am sure you will end up in a great college that you are happy with. Good luck.</p>

<p>In my school you can only take APs in Grades 11 and 12. My plan was to take all the mandatory courses required for graduation and pre-reqs in grade 11 and then do more APs in grade 12. What I am basically wondering is if I didn’t take enough APs in Grade 11 and saved too many for Grade 12. I need to know if adcoms consider APs taken in Grade 12 to be as valuable as those taken in grade 11.</p>

<p>College admissions is a crazy process. You can’t do anything to change your junior year. It’s already happened so there is no use worrying about it. Your senior year APs will be very important so do well because they will look at your first semester grades! Otherwise, forget about your junior year. Concentrate on your senior year and stop worrying about the past. I am the parent of three kids who will all be in college next year. Trust me. You will be fine.</p>

<p>AP Chem- similiar to math. It’s all equilibrium, solution stoichiometry, etc…
AP Biology- mainly terms. Just a lot of memorization
AP Cal- Taking it next year but I heard AB was really easy. BC is more in depth.
AP Lit- it’s supposedly easy. Also taking this next year. You should have taken AP Lang last year, that was a joke.</p>

<p>Pshh take AP Physics? I’m taking it next year. It’s so weird I took all AP science courses and I’m not even going to major in any sciences…</p>

<p>Please be careful of overgeneralizing about the relative difficulty of various AP classes. Whether a particular student finds a particular AP “easy” or “impossibly hard” depends on so many different factors—student’s innate talent for the subject, student’s background, the teacher’s pedagogical philosophy and approach to teaching the material, the high school’s scheduling policy, etc.</p>

<p>^^^ Totally agree and even if it’s “easy” there is an immense workload to consider with so many AP classes…</p>
