ok so i've taken the SATs twice the first time with prep and the second time i was just bored...so im in the 18== range of things..
anyways im planning on taking the SAT I one last time in october and then two SAT IIs in november...
im doing the following prep for each section:
SAT I CR:
Pride and Prejudice- Sentence analysis
1984-for pleasure and to increase reading comprehension and speed
Vocab- very little i've only memorized 400 in 2 months slacking off
SAT I Wr:
Barrons Writing Workbook - done all sections and reviewing...reading rules
Kaplan SAT studying book(something like that)- practice and review
Blue Book- done all haven't touched in a while
SAT I Math:
mom's a math teacher...and im doing pretty well so haven't done much lately
I will start doing some practice sections few weeks before the test.

SAT II Physics:
had a teacher teach me the 17 sections from princeton review book
but it was taught in chinese so i have to go over it again...
doing sparknotes and the book practice questions

SAT II Math:
REA book-getting 750+
two other books that i can't remember the name of right now but at least 730 on all tests i've taken so far...so timing problems though...10-20 minutes over limit...

my SAT scores
SAT I CR 540 WR 600 M 740
SAT II chinese 790...

so do u guys think im on track and what should i do...im totally confused on how to study CR...i've heard read books and cram vocab...
the writing im always making stupid mistakes
physics should be solid after some practice

Cramming vocabulary is probably the biggest no-no.
You won’t remember most of the things you cram down your throat. Instead, familarize yourself with them, learn to distinguish between + and - words.

For Math IIC, I suggest you take practice tests from Barron’s (a 700 on their practice tests almost guarantees you an 800 on the real thing)

Taking a Barron’s math test is stupid. If you get a 700 on one of your first tries, then you will most likely get a 800 on the real thing. But if you don’t and you decide to learn from the Barron’s book, your score isn’t going to improve much. The Barron’s book teaches you a bunch of stuff that you don’t need to know, so if you focus on doing that, you won’t learn what you do need to know.

Haha, I don’t know. I don’t suck at math and I haven’t needed any study books for it. I don’t remember the last time I missed a math question on a test.

I’m just saying that although Barron’s is harder, it isn’t necessarily better.

haha my bad about the title i was in a hurry
anyways wat do u mean by learn some strategies?
i mean reading books is good but those passages are so boring i can’t stand it
like reading pride and prejudice helps a little but only if i meet that particular kind of writing…please comment on HOW exactly to read those passages…
idk i want some suggestion on what KIND of material will help me read and comprehend those passages better
thanks for the replies so far keep them coming

oh and also i don’t know how to exactly “practice” because i don’t know how to review the ones i got wrong…?
like for example in the writing practice tests i take i know EXACTLY what i got wrong by knowing what RULE to apply and thus review- it is also like this in math…
soo…yea…
