AP Physics B is apparently the "hardest" class in my school, according to everyone I talk to. Most of these people haven't even taken the class, but strongly recommend I do not take it.

I'm a junior and want to challenge myself senior year, so I really want to take AP Physics B. However, by the beginning of next year I will only have pre-calculus knowledge. Many people advise me to not take AP Physics without having at least AP Calculus AB knowledge...

I want to take them both concurrently, is that a bad idea?

So, you should be alright. But, it would be best to cover some very basic calculus concepts–even just the functions might do, not necessarily the workings behind them.

I do not think so. I am actually currently taking AP Physics C and Calc AB. It really is not a big deal in C and that is the actual calculus based class. In Physics B you should not have a problem because it is just the concepts more than the actual calculus behind it all. So I say go for it! You will be better prepared for college!

AP Physics B doesn’t test calculus at all…I’m in it right now…the math is not the hard part…understanding the concepts is…but even then, the class shouldn’t be that hard
