UVA Website Instructions:
Within five business days of submitting the Common Application to U.Va., you should receive an email from the Office of Undergraduate Admission containing your U.Va. Computing ID, U.Va. Student System ID, and a link to the login page for the University of Virginia Student Information System.

Accessing the Student Information System
After you access the login page, click “Get Password” link. The “Obtain Your U.Va. Password” page will display. Complete this page with your U.Va. Computing ID and U.Va. Student System ID provided in the email. You will also be required to provide your last name, first name, date of birth, and email address. Be sure that you enter into these fields information that matches exactly the information you provided on your Common Application. Once you provide this information, you will receive your U.Va. applicant password.

Once you have gotten your password, go back to the Student Information login page and click the button that reads “Student System Login.” You will be taken to a new page. There, below where the page reads, “Login with U.Va. Computing ID & Password,” enter your Computing ID and password to access your Student Center account page. If you ever forget or misplace your password for your U.Va. Student Center account, you can retrieve it by following this same process.

Once you enter the Student Center you will see a “To Do List”, on the right hand side of the page, listing remaining items required to complete your application to U.Va. It is important that you check your “To Do List” often to make sure you have completed all the components of your application. Once you complete a “To Do List” item, it will no longer appear in your “To Do List”.

At the bottom of your Student Center page, under the Admissions section heading, you can monitor your application status and see your admission decision beginning April 1. You can also use the Student Center to update personal information (address, phone, email, etc.) as needed. You will also receive a formal decision letter in the mail.

If you have not received an email within five business days of submitting the Common Application to U.Va., first check to be sure that the email is not in your spam file in your email account, then contact the Help Desk at 434-924-HELP or <a href=“mailto:4help@virginia.edu ”>4help@virginia.edu for assistance.

You can repeat the steps the generate a new password, if you wish.

Do not cut and paste it. I can’t tell you how many people copy in an extra space at the beginning or end of their password and try to tell us the system isn’t working. :)

I think the thing is case sensitive, so make sure you use capital letters where necessary.

thank you Dean J haha. that was exactly my problem.

thanks for the relpies

If I applied on Saturday, and have yet to recieve an email, should I call tommorow? It says 5 business days - does that mean I should call on Monday? I’m probably just going to wait until Monday, I don’t want to be a pain.

Have you checked your spam folder?

You can email <a href=“mailto:4help@virginia.edu ”>4help@virginia.edu and ask for the email to be resent.

I also have yet to receive an email with my SIS info and I applied Tuesday, Dec. 28th. Should I email/call them about it? Or are they just busy and I will receive an email as soon as they get to it? I don’t mean to be a burden, especially considering this is a really hectic time for the admissions office, but I just want to make sure they did not forget about me.

Artsy, definitely call. They say you should call after 5 business days.

Thanks for the response Dean J.
