Am I the only one to notice it's "Harvard College"

The board has 'Harvard College' listed as 'Harvard University,' the university is the graduate program.

ummh.. good point

Yeah I noticed before, but never said anything.

yupp!!!! harvard colleeeeege! <333

i think it's adorable. i dont like the word "university"

i thought everyone knew it was Harvard College at Harvard University, the University is simple the graduate schools...the college us well undergraduate...just trying to be informative... LOL :P

CC does that with Columbia and Yale.

It's both. Harvard College is the undergrad portion of Harvard University.

Sanhyoh, thanks for ummm...reiterating my information for me? I don't mean to come off as a jerk, but you explained something that I said as the first post. :P

And no Scipio, it's Harvard College, no one here is applying to the graduate school.

god and you all think you're smart enough to get into Harvard

the university isn't the graduate rpogram. The university is the sum of all the parts. Harvard College, Harvard Law School, Kennedy School, etc etc. Amazing. Some universities even have MANY undergraduate colleges.

People are allowed to make mistakes, spikemom; even potential Harvard candidates.

Although I agree that the posts do make fools of them.

"Harvard University" refers to ALL constituent schools including the College, GSAS, Business, Law, Med etc etc. Harvard College is a part of the University. And Calculus, considering Scipio is the Super Moderator of this forum, I'd expect him to know what he (or she) is talking about.

Ok, though we have established what the correlation between college/university is, i would just like to talk about this lovely quote...

YOU ARE A MOM, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE. SHOW SOME RESPECT.
Most of the rest of us are students, and I would expect other, older people to be nicer. Take for example other adults , they **AT LEAST **show some respect. And who are you to judge people just because they don't know the difference, let alone the fact that you don't even know us. So plz, next time you refer to people on threads, refrain from calling them stupid.

lol... where did you get that quote from?

the quote is from spikemom....3 posts above mine

Lol gosh...

"University" sounds better than "College."

Done and done. :)

"the university is the graduate program."

This is incorrect. The university is not only the graduate program; it's the whole school.

Harvard University consists of 10 Schools. One of these schools is the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS), and the undergraduate portion of FAS is called Harvard College. So when you apply to Harvard College, you are applying to a portion of Harvard University just as you would be if you were applying to Harvard Medical School or Harvard Law School, etc. They are all component parts of Harvard University.

A full list of all ten Schools that comprise Harvard University can be found here:

already mentioned scipio...read the thread and you'll find it

Well.. I have certainly had a good laugh with this thread. Good point about spikemom's attitude, debate_addict. I would like to politely send her to.....the parent's forum.

I hope all Harvard students aren't as conceited as many of the posters on this thread are.

Scipio was the original poster of that fact. Maybe you should read the thread?
